CSS Mother-of-Pearl Attacked

The CSS Mother-of-Pearl, a Chinchilla-class bulk freighter, has been captured by pirates off the Cenian Trade Route after entering Waterloo. The Mother-of-Pearl was shipping electronics, laptops, cell phones, and electronic parts to a warehouse on Waterloo before going to pick up a load of grain and bread on Rus Ceres. The pirates used a classic tactic of putting an asteroid in front of the Mother-of-Pearl’s path, making it prematurely come out of hyperspace, before attacking it with ion cannons and capturing the ship. Among the ship’s crewmembers were 3 Holy Wolfes, 5 Cenians, and 5 Tekians. The ship, owned by the Aurora Shipping Co., was targeted by the pirates on June 28 and has not been heard from since. Family members of the crew are worried about their loved ones’ safety. Devore de la Luna, younger brother of crewman Yaru de la Luna, was sobbing when I met him. “I’m worried about my brother’s safety,” he said through the tears. “I don’t know when he is going to come back.” The Admiral of the Cenian 19th Sector Fleet, Seth Eirye, said that the ship would be back by the end of this month. Admiral Eirye also chose this moment to launch his campaign against piracy in the area and patrol the border region for pirates more often.

Waterloo Revolution Has Teeth!

The rebels in Waterloo have struck a blow against the forces of Emperor Wolfe Wellesley by capturing the important trade planet of Ager, at the junction of the Farming Spur and the Waterloo Trade Route. The series of determined rebel attacks against the badly trained forces of Emperor Wolfe Wellesley showed that the revolution has power. Also on Thursday, rebel forces captured the grain and bread planet Rus Ceres, hauling of thousands of tons of bread and chanting “Down with the Emperor! Down with the Consul!” Meanwhile, on Waterloo state television Emperor Wolfe Wellesley himself ranted against the protesters. “These are paid insurgents trying to topple our government! They are here to make us look bad and disrupt our social institutions!” When military troops under the command of Principis Arrhabonem defected, one of the most elite units in the Waterloo Army joined the rebels. Arrhabonem himself started a training camp in Orpor. The trained rebels also received a cache of weapons from the defecting troops. Andaran Masnav, 31, is one of the organizers of the revolution. “We started this revolution through Comsnet and Macaw,” he says. “From the start, we have built on a steady base of support. People are tired of having an emperor rule over them and only a façade of democracy. We want real democracy.” Ager, only 75 light-years from Waterloo, was a nexus of the rebellion before it was taken over by the rebels. After peaceful protests by Holy Wolfes aiming for more democracy and the fall of the absolute monarchy turned violent after Waterlooian troops fired on protesters, the supporters of democracy have turned from protests to an armed revolution. The move to revolution was hastened by defections of Waterloo Army officers to the new rebel organization, the Waterloo Freedom Army and the Waterloo Freedom Party. The rebels goals will stay the same through all of this: topple the Emperor and bring democracy to Waterloo.

Revolution!

Waterloo's citizens are tired of an autocratic government and protests sprang up on many Waterlooian worlds, including Waterloo, Plaeclara, Plaeclara Rex, Mirabilia, and Gallia Belgica, some of Waterloo's most populated planets. Protesters decried the influence of the royal family and asked for a democratic government based on Ceni's. Waterlooian officials ordered many troops to fire on the protesters, but since many were Waterlooian citizens, the soldiers refused to fire on the protesters and joined them instead. Waterloo then brought out its Regaliter Guard, the elite guards that guarded the emperor. Those guards slaughtered 1,520 peaceful protesters on Mirabilia, 2,697 on Gallia Belgica, 1,205 on Plaeclara Rex, 3,658 on Plaeclara, and 5,967 on Waterloo. They also let out tear gas, mustard gas, and chlorine onto the protesters, killing 10,892. The Cenian Senate held an emergency session a few days ago and passed a resolution 154-10 condemning the violence. But Waterlooian officials refused to heed the calls to stop the violence and began to shell the San Carlos Apartments on Mirabilia. 5,236 innocent civilians and their families were killed. Another 2,998 were killed when government officials shelled the Bacca City Hospital on the planet Bacca, killing wounded civilians. Protesters were outraged. Waterloo officials demanded that protesters stop the protests in order for the violence to stop.  But protesters continued airing their grievances against Waterloo, Fon Que, and Consul Demetrius. Groups of protesters tore down statues of Emperor Wolfe Wellesley and looted from the Imperial Museum of Dynastic History, where Kenny the Kind's military regalia was displayed. Waterloo officials then destroyed the Hunitia Apartment Building, with 54,789 innocents not connected to the revolution inside. 4,622 survived. Protesters then petitioned the Interplanetary Medicine Board to supply medicine to wounded protesters who were dying of easily treated injuries. But Waterloo's Duma passed 456-0 a resolution that banned any member if any aid agency from entering the country. The Emperor approved it 10 minutes after it was passed. Today Waterlooian citizens are preparing for a revolution, one that would allow them to have a free country.

Waterloo Sectors Join Ceni

In a sector wide referendum in the Baqen, Callao, Valparaiso, Oheria, Rabaul, Chirdayo, and Duolon sectors, the citizens overwhelmingly voted to join Ceni. These sectors brought the major trading worlds of Valparaiso, Oheria, Callao, and Iquique. The sectors are in the same area of space as the Protectorate of Loja.

Senate Approves Treaty of Waterloo

In a move today the Senate ratified the Treaty of Waterloo 53-52, with 55 abstentions. The Treaty of Waterloo would establish the Universal Pact. However, many senators were unhappy about the 25% of revenue part, and voted no or abstained. Many of the 55 senators who abstained were happy about the rest, but not about the 25% of revenue part.

Waterloo Soldier Mutiny

Q: Why did you mutiny from the Waterloo Army, Mr. Ruthfalme?
A: The officers there were promoted because of loyalty to the Emperor. We were fighting the Cenian Army Recon Division. They ordered us into a hail of fire but when I questioned their orders they beat me to the pulp. They ordered my comrades into a minefield, as well.  We were not equipped for battle in swamps. We also were not issued with food or water, just money. We were tired and thirsty. Lots of other soldiers were facing the same fate, too, so we organized a mutiny.
Q: Did the mutiny work?
A:Yes, the officers were defeated because they had no military training, they just knew how to follow orders and no orders were given about mutiny.
Q: What will you and your fellow mutineers do now?
A: We will join the Cenian Army, to help defend liberty and stop other Waterlooians from doing the same thing.

Thank you.

Your welcome.

Who Wrote the Constitution?

Kyn Tucin doesn't break the constitution, he wrote it. If you are not mistaken, the Cenian Constitution only applies to areas under Cenian jurisdiction. Waterloo is not under Cenian jurisdiction. If Waterloo has free speech laws, the Consul Demetrius has free speech. The United States' constitutional protections do not apply to Thai citizens, except when visiting the US. If the Cenian Constitution applies to Waterloo, then the massacre of Lojan terrorist supporters would be ruled unconstitutional under Article 13. He says that Kyn Tucin is racist by saying in Article 35 that only natural-born Cenian citizens and citizens born to Cenian parents abroad can be chancellor. Notice that the Cenian Constitution was based on the US Constitution, and the US Constitution says the exact same thing, except for one difference: "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; "
However, you need to be aware of proper demonyms. A Cenian is a) a member of the Cenian species b) someone who lives on Cenaci c) someone who lives in the Cenaci sector d) someone who lives in Ceni
So only someone who lives in Ceni and is a natural born citizen or someone born to Cenian parents who were citizens abroad can be Chancellor. A Katte such as Shadow B'betsy would have no constitutional trouble getting to be Chancellor. I haven't heard anyone saying that the Founding Fathers were racist.

Why Go To War With Waterloo?

I wonder why they would go to war with us, we have not done anything to them. If we would declare war on them, we would have several reasons:
  1. The massacre of women and children on Loja
  2. The explosion of two of Cenaci's power plants
  3. The spreading of lies by a Waterloo newspaper
I would not wish to go to war with Waterloo at the moment: it would be too draining for us.

Waterloo Fires on Women and Children of Loja Along with the Warriors

Here is an excerpt from THNEOW Protector: ''All the Loja and Loja supporters were put to the gun.''
So all of the woman and children were massacred, too. Ceni's military would never do that as it would be killing unarmed civilians who believed in a cause. Waterloo's actions would constitute to a sort of genocide, killing people for their beliefs, even if they believe in a terrorist group. Cenian ships arriving at Jalada will stand by to try and get Waterloo to apologize to the families of the victims. However, they will not attack as spelled out in the Demilitarization Act.

Ceni Sends 3 Starfighter Squadrons to Jalada

Today, the 4th fleet guarding Pandolo ordered 2 squadrons of A1s and 1 squadron of A2s to Jalada to guard it and invade the terrorists if possible. If the terrorists strike soon another wing and the Hibiscus, an Ille-class Star Defender and the Fentlaraar-class ships the Jasmine and the Bellflower will be on their way to crush the terrorists.

The Holy Naval Empire of Waterloo: Bad Times, Better Times, and a New Protectorate

First, the relations between Waterloo and Ceni were strained and Waterloo created the Anti-Ceni Pact (ACP).  It set out to do this:
No help Ceni
Break all treaties with Ceni
Embargo Ceni
War against Ceni
War with Ceni allies
Help all members of ACP
Banish Ceni from territory
Be peaceful to members of ACP

But then Waterloo backed out. People who did not sign their names to the original treaties but were on the list anyway quit, and all the other members quit as well.

When Waterloo won the planet of Jalada form the terrorists with help from Cenian starfighter squadrons, it offered Ceni Jalada as a protectorate and Ceni accepted.

From good to bad, hmmm......?

Treaty Shuts Down Violence Between Waterloo and Ceni

Today, in the Treaty of Calia, Waterloo agreed to stop all aggression, violence, and insults to Ceni. Leader of Calia, Captain Carl Weir, wrote the treaty and made Waterloo suggest it in return for unknown reward. Pending the approval of the Senate, it will go into effect August 1st.

Senate Building Set on Fire by Waterloo

Today, the Senate building was set on fire by a group of Holy Wolves visiting there on a tour. The building's Armageddon came when the smoking Wolves threw their fiery cigarettes in  the building's support pipes, burning and melting the metal and wood that held the building's ceiling up. Meanwhile, Senate authorities were on a wild goose chase for a group of Scorpian gunrunners who had met with the senator of Krysteel to endorse their scheme. 2 security officers were killed, although the gunrunners were arrested. As for the collapse, all members of the Senate were alive but injured, from the broken claws and teeth of Katinal senator Shadow B'betsy to multiple bone breaks in the legs and arms in Nananian senator Elain Foyner. The appearance of the Scorpians just as the Holy Wolves entered was mysterious, and official finger-pointers have speculated an alliance between the 2 hostile countries. But why the building's collapse was so easy, and why the Wolves did it, remains a mystery to Cenian law enforcement

Kyn Tucin Resigns Waterloo Council Position

Today Kyn Tucin resigned his seat on the Council of Waterloo. He resigned for several reasons: One, to protest Waterloo's bullying of Ceni; Two, to obey the Constitution of Ceni; and Three, to resign before Fon Que fires him.

Waterloo Saboteurs destroy 2 of Cenaci's Power Plants

2 mysterious explosions at Cenaci's largest power plants have left billions without power and clean water. The Cenian government, CTR, New Aire, and many other corporation's facilities computers were shut down, leading to millions of Bewlegi in losses. Government analysts quickly linked the explosions with a group of Holy Wolves touring the plants on a "diplomatic mission". Witnesses said that they were carrying numerous items that looked like detonators or canisters. The saboteurs were killed in the blast that left many wanting to declare war on Waterloo. "This only adds to the number of diplomatic and military actions that either insulted Ceni, broke Cenian law, or destroyed items that were important to Ceni that Waterloo had been proved to behind. This deserves war!" said war hawk Senator of Pandolo sector John Trebor. Should Ceni declare war or should it not? This will raise many interesting questions in the national government.

When asked how his Memorial Day was, Waterloo leader Fon Que responded his country had none.

Waterloo Newspaper Spreads Lies About King Tucin

Today, the latest edition of the newspaper The Waterloo Protector stated that "King Kyn Tucin of Ceni has knowingly insulted his esteemed Fon Que and should be prosecuted about that." The Protector also stated that "A fanatical Cenian, ordered by the King, infilitrated the Comnet and removed content the King considered 'obsecene'". The Cenian Intelligence Bureau and the king have denied these allegations, and have stated that the Protector is not a trustworthy newspaper, and that it is a liar. Fon Que added to these lies when he posted the link on his Comsnet page to the article condemning King Tucin. It remains to be seen if the Cenian populace approves or disapproves of the actions the King supposedly commited.

Que of Waterloo Forges Papers

Today it was discovered that minister Fon Que of Waterloo had ordered subordinates to forge papers indicating that King Tucin had married former Secretary of State Saundra Narducci. The outbreak came after Mr. Que publicly told citizens that Narducci had married Tucin. Fon Que has seemed to sell Waterloo out to the Herd, and it appears that the emperor and empress had been deposed in favor of a Herd-run government. The country will now host regiments of Herd troops and ninjas.
