Senate Approves Change to Constitution

The Senate today approved a change to the constitution that would, if ratified, allow sectors to elect 2 senators. It passed 98-63. Senator Bob Kim of the Cenian Central Party spoke out in favor of the amendment: "If passed, it would allow sectors to elect minority party senators more often and would allow sectors to split their Senate vote for 2 parties, instead of settling for one of the opposition who had a few billion more votes than they did." But Opposition Leader Kartot Tarat was in outrage: "This would allow our enemies to gain more support in the Senate. That is why I ask you to vote NO to this measure!"
